Introduction
The SASHA Coalition responded to the EU call for evidence on the Renewable Energy Framework. The consultation is designed to get public input on a post-2030 framework for renewable energy.
Our response
We highlighted that accelerating investment into renewable energy sources will be vital for European competitiveness, but this requires an enabling and stable regulatory environment that provides certainty to investors. This certainty will not be achieved if planned reviews of key regulations are brought forward. Our response addresses:
The Renewable Fuels of Non-Biological Origin (RFNBO) Delegated Act, and;
The biofuel feedstock sustainability criteria.
Unscheduled revisions of these documents risk undermining confidence in the longevity of these regulatory frameworks.
